This resource provides scaffolds for beginner EAL learners to support speaking and listening and writing around the topic of the Black Death.
It contains several activities to enable EAL learners to access the historical context as well as key vocabulary and language structures relating to the topic. All the activities provide opportunity for collaborative work, but they could also be used as independent or shared writing tasks.
EAL learners will develop their language skills by talking about the causes of the Black Death, describing how the illness developed, recounting and sequencing how the Black Death spread. All activities come with visual support, and key words.
This resource pack can be downloaded as Word and PowerPoint or PDF files.
