This is a pack of resources to support the teaching of writing in the information genre. This is one of a set of similar packs developed by EAL Nexus to support the teaching of a range of non-fiction genres.
These resources can be used to teach EAL learners and others the key features, vocabulary and structure needed for a non-fiction genre, in this case information writing. It can be used as a revision tool or as an introduction to the genre, or as an aid to writing in other areas of the curriculum. It will prepare learners for writing independently in this genre. The resources include the key ingredients of the genre, appropriate vocabulary with definitions and examples, games for learners to play in pairs or small groups and a photocopiable 'key ring' for the genre, which includes a graphic organiser.
This resource pack can be downloaded as PowerPoint and Word or PDF files.
