This resource will promote listening skills and encourage learners to listen for particular sounds whilst using the correct sentence structure to describe what they are hearing. Contains a PowerPoint presentation to introduce good listening skills, which should allow learners to tune in and listen for particular sounds. It also aids in building the key vocabulary 'What can you hear?' and 'I can hear'. There is also a set of 'listening ears' which can be worn by the learners to encourage them to listen; these also add an element of fun to the lesson. Finally there is a sheet in which the learners can record what they have heard. There is great opportunity to use this resource in conjunction with exploring the local environment and discussing what can be seen outdoors. This resource gives opportunity for exploratory talk in both English and the learner's home language.
