One of the issues identified by Canons Cluster in terms of raising pupil achievement was involving parents in their children’s education. Although all schools were committed to partnership with parents, and offered family and adult learning opportunities, it was felt that some communities were not being adequately reached.
The EAL Nexus project is aiming to support and strengthen EAL networks across the UK by establishing partnerships with EAL experts and organisations and by supporting and creating platforms for discussions around EAL in the UK.
The four nations have slightly different curricula, formal assessment systems, teacher standards and policies relating to EAL learners.
